Having determination even when times get tough.

I'm going to start this essay off by quoting 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 which says: 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. How many of you race? I personally don't race but I have some friends that do I do run though and right now I'm trying to get back into it because I hurt my foot this past summer and am still trying to get it strong again so that way I won't have as much trouble any way my point is it can take a lot of determination which can be pretty tough especially when things aren't going the way the way you want it to go. And a verse that can help is Philippians 4:13 which says: I can do all things in Christ who gives me strength. Which basically means that with Christ's help we can do any thing we put our minds to even racing. Bethany Hamilton once said .I believe in Jesus Christ, and I believe He gave me the passion and determination to continue surfing. You fall off the horse, and you get back on. I had to go for it.  And basically what she is saying is when we believe in Christ we can do anything! And for those of you who don't know who Bethany Hamilton is she is a professional surfer who lost one of her arms because a shark bit it off while she was surfing and you can see what happened in the movie soul surfer and now she is a mother in real life.  A verse that can help is Isaiah 50:7 which says: Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced.  Therefore have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. Basically what this verse is saying is God will help us no matter what and for me personally that has helped me over the years to have determination no matter what.  George Horace Lorimer once said .You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.  Basically what he's saying is we all need to get up with determination if we are going to go to bed happy knowing that we did the very best we can in life's situations. 1 Corinthians 2:2 says For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. Basically what this verse is saying is when we trust in Christ we can know that with Christ we can do any thing. Mark Cuban once said  “When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, you do not change your decision to get there. Basically what this he is saying is at times we need to change our direction to reach our goal for example earlier this school year it just didn't work out for me to do Dmacc right now so I'm doing some theology, world missions, spanish and sign language classes and will be doing Dmacc later this school year for spring semester and continuing to do the classes that I mentioned. My point is sometimes God has us take a different direction to reach our goal and ultimately his goal for our lives weather his goal for our lives is for us to compete professionally in sports or to go into politics or like me to become a sign language and music missionary or any thing really something that I've learned this school year is that sometimes God has us take a different direction for the time being or for the rest of our lives. 2 Chronicles 15:7 says: But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.  Basically what this verse is saying is when we are strong and do not give up we will be rewarded in time. I personally know this is true because I didn't start talking until I was 5 and it took years of speech therapy but now even though it took some time I can talk and sing more clearly and I know that it's because of God that I can and even though there are times that I don't always talk clearly it's only when I can't think straight.  A  Navy SEAL Master chief once said It takes a little courage, and a little self-control. And some grim determination, If you want to reach the goal. It takes a great deal of striving, and a firm and stern-set chin. No matter what the battle, if you really want to win, there’s no easy path to glory. There is no road to fame. Life, however we may view it, Is no simple parlor game; But its prizes call for fighting, For endurance and for grit; For a rugged disposition that will not quit. This is basically what I was saying! When we work hard and have courage and self-control and with Christ's help we can do any thing even for me personally over come memory issues basically what happened was I always had memory issues but it got even worse when I was in 8th grade to where I had to have a 24 hour MRI to find out what was going on and it turned out I needed to have more b12 to help me with my memory issues and it took me a few years to get dealt with. Galations 6:9 says Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Basically what this verse is saying is we can do anything if we don't give up and the things that I've talked about and what I'm going to talk about in this essay will help with this.  John J. Watson once said it was courage, faith, endurance and a dogged determination to surmount all obstacles that built this bridge. Basically what this quote is saying is with courage, faith, endurance and determination we can do anything which is basically what I was saying earlier in this essay.  Titus 3:14 says    Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives. Basically what this verse is saying we must devote ourselves to doing what is good in order to help others and I know from experience that it can pay off with our relationships, and it can help with how we act. Maya Angelou once said Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently. Basically what Maya is saying is without courage we can't practice any virtue because courage is the most important virtue which is true we also need God because with out God for me personally I wouldn't have gotten through all that I've gone through. Acts 20:24 says   However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Basically what this verse is saying is we need to finish the race that we are on which is evangelizing on the individual path that God has chosen for each and every one of us weather like me you are called to go over seas to reach out to people in different life stages.  Cory Doctorow  once said never underestimate the determination of a kid who is time-rich and cash-poor. I like this quote! Basically what it means is you can have more determination when you are time rich instead of cash rich and from my point of view you don't have to have money to be rich if you have the three most important things in life which are God, family and friends in a way you are rich.  1 Timothy 4:13 says Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Basically what this verse is saying is  just because you are young doesn't mean that you can't do great things weather you are in middle school, high school or even college it doesn't matter how old you are you can use these things that I've talked about to teach people older and younger than you a few things that you have learned don't let other people tell you that you can't.   Numbers 13 :29-30 says  The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan. Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. Caleb is right we should take possession of what is ours and a good way to do it is using the things I have taught you in this essay.  Jessie ow once said    “We all have dreams.  But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.  And basically what she is saying is it takes a lot  of determination to make our dreams to come true and a good way we can have determination is by using the things that I have taught you in this essay. Thanks for reading! I hope you learned a lot and had fun reading it. :)

Evangelism

Hey you guys I know its been a while since my last post I am going to talk about evangelism. The first verse that I am going to bring up is 1 Timothy 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in love,in faith and in purity. And as Christian's and leaders we are supposed to set a example for non-believers and each other. The next verse that I am going to bring up is John 15:27 And you must also testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. And as Christian's and leaders we are supposed to tell others about Christ. Which brings up the next verse Mark 16:15 He said to them,''Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation''. And a good verse to use while evangelizing is John 14:6 Jesus answered,''I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. I am going to finish off with John 3:16 which again is a good verse to use which says:For God so loved the world that he gave his one and son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Leadership

Latly I have been thinking about leadership because one of my spiritual is leadership there is some verses about leadership like Numbers 27:18 So the Lord said to Moses, Take Joshua son of Nun, A man in whom is the spirit of leadership, And lay your hand on him. How the  verse talk about leadership is the part that  it talks about the spirit of leadership.

pumpkins place: My personal testimony

Hi my name is Mary, How I became a Christan is when I was 7 at the time I was in Sunday school at first assembly of god and the pastor said John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. And then not long after that I became a Christian. :) Before I became a Christian my life was pretty crazy and it still is to this day mainly because I didn't start talking until I was 5 because of autism. Then after I started talking and became a Christian it became easier for me to talk sure I had to go through years of speech therapy but still I'm able to talk and for me if it wasn't for Christ I wouldn't be able to talk or sing and I would still be doing sign language to communicate to people. I want to encourage all of you to become a Christian if you aren't already a Christian. because Christ can help you with a lot that you go through as long as you let him.
